Hannah Farm: Group Volunteering
Thank you for your interest in bringing a group out to Long Island to volunteer on B.GOOD’s Hannah Farm. We are very excited to be getting our group volunteer program underway this season and believe the experience will be fun, refreshing and incredibly memorable for you and your team.
We would like to work with you to cater this experience to the interests of your group. Typically, we ask groups to work for a couple hours, helping with weeding, harvesting veggies and various other farm tasks.
Typical Volunteer Day
Here is an example of what a group volunteer day could look like:
8:30 Depart on boat from the World Trade Center, Seaport
9:00 Arrive at Long Island
9:20 Arrive at Hannah Farm (approximately 0.8 miles or 18 min walk to the farm)
9:30 Introduction to Hannah Farm & Farm Tour
9:45 Farm work Block 1
12:00 B.GOOD Lunch
12:45 Farm Work Block 2
2:30 Depart Long Island
3:00 Arrive back in Seaport
How big of a group can I bring?
Up to 25 volunteers is preferable for us. However, please reach out if you are trying to bring more! We can figure out a way to make it work.
My school group or summer program is interested?
Hannah Farm is designed as a community space for Boston & we want as many people as possible to have experience on the farm – so we would love to have your group come out. We’d be happy to do a short workshop with your group as well to talk about growing your own food, the benefits of fresh produce & eating healthy. School groups can visit between June 18th & August 24th
Please be sure to have your group bring lunch & snacks as we will be working hard all day. We are also happy to provide B.GOOD catering at 10% off for your school or corporate group.
For Corporate Volunteer Groups
An essential part of our work at Hannah Farm comes from our partnership with Camp Harbor View. Over the course of the summer, Camp Harbor View provides close to 1,000 underserved Boston youth with a unique summer camp experience on Long Island. Our close partnership with Camp Harbor View and our pledge to donate at least 75% of all food grown on Hannah Farm to the campers and their families is critical to the mission of our farm.
In that vein, we ask that each corporate volunteer group make a contribution to Camp Harbor View to support the important work that they do. The cost is $2,500 for up to 25 volunteers which includes boat transportation to the island from Seaport, lunch, supplies and staff and acts as a donation to the camp.
Based on limited availability, service days can include a farm to table meal prepared by B.GOOD Head Chef Tony Rosenfeld on island at Hannah Farm for an additional cost of $2,500 for 25 people.
When can you come?
