b.good newsletter #28 - 'el guapo' is here
Hey Everyone,
July is nearly gone but the memory of the sweet taste of her celebratory beverages still lingers on our lips.
And that's because we had a lot to celebrate this month.
First, we had to celebrate American independence. So, we invited all of you to dance, sing, and binge drink with us at our 2nd annual "Family BBQ" on the 4th of July.
As you'll see in these pictures, the heavy rains on the 4th couldn't extinguish the b.good spirit to cram into a small, weed-filled, pathetic-excuse for a backyard, eat burnt hot dogs, and play drinking games until we neared unconsciousness. (In the ultimate display of patriotism, USA defeated Brazil in our annual flip-cup world championship. Half the Brazilian team couldn't stand up by the time we started keeping score, but we still won and really, that's all that matters.)
And, while it doesn't seem possible to have a bigger reason to celebrate than commemorating our nation's liberty, we have one today, the final day of this most festive of all fast-food months.
Today, we're celebrating because our new bacon-jalapeno-ranch burger finally has a name.
And we're celebrating today because 2 burger-naming prodigies become fast-food immortals who will eat free house-ground, hand-packed beef topped with jalapeno-ranch and lean, all-natural bacon for the next 365 days.
Since we had you guys vote for the winner, the family spoke and we listened (well, we tried to listen).
In the online voting, Andy Mutz and his "El Jefe" burger won in a landslide. But, just as we prepared to forever call our beautiful new burger, "El Jefe", we got this email from b.good family member, Ryan Fitzpatrick, explaining that Andy had made a mistake in his reasoning and we had to reconsider.
So, we've been forced to crown 2 beloved family members with complimentary burgers for a year. Click to meet b.good's first-ever burger-naming tag-team.
As a result of their contributions, today we're proud to officially bring "El Guapo" and all her handsome jalapenos, ranch, and lean, all-natural bacon to the b.good menu forever.
And today we're also proud to unveil our new "special" chicken sandwich that has parmesan-ranch sauce, bacon, lettuce, tomato, and onion.
To celebrate this great day in b.good history, we're doing what we do every July - give our family free t-shirts.
This year's edition is a tribute to the most handsome bacon-burger we've ever seen (and also a tribute to the most handsomely portly former Red Sox reliever who shares our new burger's beautiful name). And just in case you needed some incentive to come get yours, we made this video of Deley, b.good's most glamorous male model, sporting "El Guapo" on his back. (He's pretty.)
So, if you think you'd actually want to wear a t-shirt with a burger name printed on it, just print this out, come see us today, Monday July 31st, and get your limited edition "El Guapo" t-shirt.
And when you come to get it, please bring this newsletter with you. No copies of someone else's newsletter or forwards allowed. Violators are subject to not receiving a t-shirt and being forced to sit alone in the middle of the restaurant with Wagner, our crazy burger-making poet, while he whispers to you in Portuguese that you are more handsome than our new burger. Based on his disturbing acts of affection at our BBQ, Wagner is not someone you want to be seduced by. To understand fear, click to see who's waiting for this month's freeloaders who try to defy our family.
As always, if you know anyone who wears t-shirts or anyone who just wants to be loved like family, forward this and tell them to join ours at www.bgood.com.
