newsletter #11 -- Happy Birthday
Hey Everyone,
Happy birthday to b.good.
Well, we actually made it.
Today, January 12th, we celebrate b.good's 1st birthday. And as you know, the last 365 days have been filled with some happy times (like when Chef Tony forced the b.good executive team to take a personality test and Anthony found out he was a natural-born leader with a "passion for excellence") and some sad times (like when Chef Tony's same test reported that Jon had the mental capacity of an automaton who should be used for "repetitive tasks done isolated from interaction with other humans"). We've interpreted the test to mean that Jon should be allowed to chop vegetables, but should not be spoken to when he chops and should never be criticized... EVER.
But, despite all the ups and downs, we made it through year #1. And we made it because of you.
If you guys didn't come down to our restaurant all the time, b.good would be closed by now and we'd be completely broke, living in our parents' basements, and watching re-runs of the Price Is Right and late night infomercials (those things can make you feel good about yourself even if you suck).
Even worse, we'd be forced to spend the rest of our lives tormented by the fact that we'd failed not once, but twice, in the business world.
Back in high school, we set out to dominate the early 90's summer lawn-care market in Southern Massachusetts. But, we learned that it's hard to dominate the landscaping industry when the flyers you spend weeks distributing are written by dyslexic Anthony and have nearly every word spelled wrong (most people don't spell grass with a "c"... Anthony does). And we learned it's even harder when those same flyers are written by dyslexic Anthony and have the wrong telephone number for our business on them.
Thank God that instead, this dyslexic and automaton have been able to come in here for the past 365 days, talk about the same stupid things, write stupid newsletters, and make great-tasting, house-ground burgers and baked fries together.
So, thanks for the support.
In our own strange way of showing our appreciation, we're holding a couple of events to give back to you for an entire year of support and encouragement.
First, we're going to give one of you FREE BURGERS FOR A YEAR. All you have to do is click http://www.bgood.com/customeroftheyear.php and enter our new contest. Just submit the reason why you were the b.good "Customer of The Year" and the winner will get his or her favorite burger free for our entire 2nd year in business.
Second, we also want to say thanks by celebrating our birthday with you. Like any birthday (unless you're poor Anthony whose 30th is in 2 short but sad weeks), it's time to drink, dance, and eat massive quantities of food.
Naturally, we'll take care of that last part. Tonight, between 5-10 pm, just bring in this newsletter to our 1st birthday party and get any of our burgers, fries, and shakes for $1.
As always, if you know anyone crazy enough to want to receive this newsletter or anyone who just wants the free (or $1) food that comes with it, forward them this email and tell them to sign up at our website.
Anthony & Jon
