newsletter #69 - our 6th birthday

Hey Everyone,

Happy birthday to b.good.

Yes, today, we turn 6. And that means it was 6 years ago today that we sold our first house-ground burger on Dartmouth Street.

We have no idea how we actually sold anything that day. And since we were sprinting around out-of-control, smashing into whatever got in our way, and speaking in tongues (we were praying that wouldn't hurt ourselves or blow up the restaurant), we have no idea how we got any of those customers to ever come back. (There's a good chance they thought it was the funniest thing they'd ever seen and came back because they wanted to see it again.)

Looking back, we can honestly say that this has been the hardest thing we've ever done. But, we'll never regret that half-drunken moment in a bar when we made our pact to quit our jobs, go out on our own, and make fast food "real". These 6 years have made for a truly amazing experience that has completely changed our lives. So, we're really grateful to the people who made it possible - you, our fast food family.

To show our gratitude, we're throwing a birthday party.

All day today, Tuesday, January 12th, while we're stuffing ourselves with cake, signing happy songs, and reminiscing about the old days, we'll also be cooking up $6 shake combo meals for our family.

Today, at every b.good, our burger (beef, turkey, veggie, or chicken), fries (regular or sweet potato), and shake combo is just $6 to celebrate our 6 years of life.

And we're also celebrating our birth by giving one of you FREE BURGERS FOR THE NEXT YEAR of our business' life.

All you need to do is tell us why you're our Customer of The Year. (If you don't think you're an elite consumer of house-ground steak, you need to understand that our contest isn't about how many burgers you eat. It's about how much you love those burgers, how stupid your sense of humor is, and how much free time you have.)

After you've entered, come party with us. But, just remember to bring your own print-out of this newsletter (or show it to us on your phone). No copies or forwards. Violators aren't just subject to paying full price for their combo. They're subject to Sam, the second b.good family member demented enough to want to run the Boston Marathon in our burger suit. To fulfill our dream of seeing one of our kinfolk run 26-miles dressed as a giant b.good burger again this April, we'll be helping Sam raise money for Citizen Schools. As you can imagine, a man willing to run Heartbreak Hill in a hamburger costume is not somebody you want to test for a $6 meal. Today, Sam will be chasing down any freeloader with the stones to try take advantage of our love for family.
