Why "El Tio"?
In Spring 2005, we determined the best investment for our small, young company was a used 1979 Chevy El Camino. And to have it pimped-out with a custom paint job to cover it with flames, b.good logos, and Uncle Fais's face.
After we purchased the greatest "company vehicle" ever owned, we needed a name for our beautiful Spanish half-car-half-truck. So, we turned to our customers. This time, we awarded the winner with the keys to our El Camino for a weekend.
And by submitting the mae "El Tio Superfly Clown Destroyer" (or just "El Tio" for short), Dan became a champion.
According to the champ, "Each word has its own special meaning: 1) El Tio- the crazy uncle, like Faris , that we all have but few of us acknowledge, along with a shot-out to teh El Camino's'Authentic Hispanic' roots. 2) Superfly - harkening back to the 70's roots, when pimping was cool and life was easy. 3) Clown - McDonald's, the company b.good is doing to McDonald's, and all the the other unhealthy fast-food places out there; it also evokes a great piece of Americana: the 1970's gas guzzlers that came out of Detroit, the El Camino being the 'best' of the bunch, that paved the way for foreign dominance in the U.S. automobile market."
