why I'll be the best cousin in Brookline: I am not planning on being a good cousin, I just make the contests and make sure they work. -- 2007-10-10 15:41:16 |
why I'll be the best cousin in Brookline: I wasn't planning on entering this contest. Honestly. I love you guys and am more than willing to pay my way and keep your bottom line happy. Then tonight it was pointed out to me - if you can't mooch free food off of your family, who can you? So I'm entering. Will I not come in to Brookline if I don't WIN? (Or my usual Harvard Sq or finally get to Dartmouth St, or come to the opening at Newbury St?) Heck no, whether I'm paying or not, the price is right.
But why I really started this entry was to say thank you for a great party tonight. Reminded me of one of my own (Irish Catholic) family events, you invite 100, expect 50 and 200 show up. And to say thank you from the bottom of my well fed heart to your entire staff, who handled a mob scene (or was it a movie scene of zombies moaning burrrgerrrs instead of braaaains) with grace, speed, and humor. Well done.

why I'll be the best cousin in Brookline: Beacause I 'm a great cousin. Have a cousin Brucie. Maybe you heard of him?
My wife the world famous DR of nutrition tells me we all need to eat healthy and if your cooking methods meet (no pun intended) her approval she will make our new extended family all famous around the globe. Cousin Brucie can vouch that she can do it too!
Plus bugers need to be fun to eat :) -- 2007-08-14 19:48:02 |
why I'll be the best cousin in Brookline: I'd be the best cousin in Brookline because I live 115 steps away from Bgood. My name is Henry and cheese burgers are my 4th favorite food. I'd buy millions of milkshakes with my dad's money but i have my own bank account. I am going into second grade and I am seven years old. I hope I can be your cousin. I might not eat too many cheese burgers because I have a really lose tooth. -- 2007-08-14 19:42:07 |
why I'll be the best cousin in Brookline: Beacause I will be there every week to promote the godliness of your healthy restaurant throughout our community -- 2007-08-14 19:37:48 |

why I'll be the best cousin in Brookline: Hi--My name is Julia. I am nine years old. I should be your cousin because I am very reliable and I wouldn't eat too many burgers because I get full easily. I will tell all my friends about bgood and I live very close. I would buy lots of your milkshakes and I would also get burgers. I would give you tips to help you run your restaurant.
Thanks! Hope I can be your cousin. -- 2007-08-14 19:37:20 |
why I'll be the best cousin in Brookline: because Heidi Notman, aka "hnotty", and your former Nobles classmate claims I am the best burger loving momster around!
Name of burger should be The Notty Burger!!!!

why I'll be the best cousin in Brookline: There are a number of reasons why I would make a great cousin to be adopted in to your family. I've lived in Brookline, just blocks away from your new restaurant, for most of my life, and this means that I could be your fun cousin, showing you the neighborhood, telling you stories and introducing you around. I would also make a fine cousin because of the excitement I already have for your long-awaited arrival. The restaurant hasn't even opened yet and I have already memorized the menu. This is especially important to me since I am blind, and thus won't be able to use your in-store signage when making my dining selections. To prepare, then, I have been regularly salivating at your web site, and strategizing as to which burgers I will have to try first. I look forward to getting my first taste tonight, and I hope to become part of the family soon.. -- 2007-08-14 17:27:31 |
why I'll be the best cousin in Brookline: A super successful hamburger joint to be, located in the Jewish Quarter of Brookline, can do without drama, it can do without trans fat, and it can do without trannies,
but it's only going to sell so much beef without a cousin like me.
Tasty burgers, shakes, and proper signage, will undoubtedly bring your restaurant much success. But with success comes notoriety, great power and responsibility. Youth will look up to us, Women will want to eat inside
our doors, men will envy us both for our el camino and our el guapo. I will help to ensure that b.good's founding pricipals are always kept front and center. Great
food that makes you happy as hell and won't lead to arteriorsclerosis. This is not your
Grandfather's hamburger spot. But we welcome Grandpas, and everybody else the hood has to offer, with open arms.
Come in, eat your face off, make a friend, meet our kin, dance if you're moved!
As a cousin to b.good I will stand boldly before your establishment, anticipating cracks in the foundation and, when spotted,
will work quickly with mortar and trowel to repair them. I am willing to reactivate my pager from middle school and be "hit on hip" as needed to ward off undesirables. Under the protective umbrella I will open ... B.good will grow strong and proud.
P.S. I worked as a janitor one summer and, if selected, I promise to police your grounds day and night, free burger in hand, always wearing a broad smile to welcome passerby's to OUR new home in the city.

why I'll be the best cousin in Brookline: I'm a recovered vegetarian and I need all the Cousin Oliver I can get, if you know what I mean -- 2007-08-14 17:10:16 |
why I'll be the best cousin in Brookline: because I love my burgers, of course. I am just around the corner in JP and am always looking for a good healthy quick bite to eat. -- 2007-08-14 16:46:35 |
why I'll be the best cousin in Brookline: 1. I stopped eating red meat for a couple years but plan on biting into a juicy burger tonight and hopefully will be munching on b.good burgers for the rest of my life.
2. I never eat alone and will always bring a friend to enjoy the prime quality meat at b.good.
3. I'll even hangout when I'm not hungry and make friends with those who are; plus I?m bilingual which by calculations doubles the number of new friends I can make at b.good Coolidge Corner.
4. I'll re-dedicate my life to b'ing.good.
5. I am not afraid of looking stupid and will make myself available to wear a b.good sign and walk up and down Harvard Ave.
6. I have over 50 cousins ranging from 1mos to 36?ask any of them and they?ll tell you I?m a freaking awesome cousin (actually, the 1 month-old will probably just drool, but as owners of a restaurant you know that?s a sign of approval). I always put their happiness above my own, and I pledge to take my awe-inspiring cousinness to a new level for b.good even if I'm not selected as a cousin because we?re really already family.
7. I've always dreamed of owning a pet cow named Bessie but it will be just as satisfying to eat a burger everyday and talk to it as if it were my pet cow Bessie.
8. If I ever get a pet cow Bessie, no matter how much I love her, I promise to donate her to you so you can make even more delicious burgers. Mmmmmm burgers?
9. I?m willing to enter myself in hamburger eating contests at your discretion.
10. I?m not even blood related to my own family; they ran a similar contest that I won back in the 80s.
If I am chosen as the new Brookline cousin I will channel all my summer camp arts and crafts passion into a token of my appreciation. When I love...I REALLY love. If you'd like to check one of my past obsessions (namely Dance Dance Revolution) please follow the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K7A-R0WVxDw to see how adoring I can be.
I sincerely hope to dote on my new obsession?b.good. Thank you for considering my application.
Warmly,
Colleen Youngdahl

why I'll be the best cousin in Brookline: -- 2007-08-14 15:52:43 |
why I'll be the best cousin in Brookline: I'm the best (I'll also accept obvious) choice for the best cousin in Brookline mainly because like any good family member I'll come aound if I know you're home and your cooking something something tasty. I'll stay around for a bit to eat and chit chat...enough time to create that subtle sense of awkwardness and then eventually I'll be on my merry way again. Family is really important to me and like any family I'll be sure to tell everyone about my distant "burger-slingin'" relatives and how they always seem to have exactly what I want to eat when I come by (El Guapo). Hell don't be surprised if I show up with friends of mine...touting a braggadocious swagger and shouting "Burgers all around on me" just for the sheer pleasure of being told "Um..no Vlad only YOU can have your burger on the house. You're the one we like. You're the BEST!" -- 2007-08-14 15:49:47 |
why I'll be the best cousin in Brookline: Honestly, the best reason I would be a great cousin? My last name is Orndorff. And "Cousin Orndorff" is as pleasing to the toungue in the same way that all your delicious burgers would be to my belly.
Seriously though, I am thrilled with the opening of b.good in Brookline. I live in Coolidge Corner and my boyfriend lives in Union Square in Allston. All the time we question...where can we pick up food between our houses? Not that there aren't other options, but the day I found out you guys were opening in the strange old rental center/gas station on Harvard Ave, I sent him an email proclaiming it! Now I will be able to pick up delicious fries, salads or burgers (my one true love) on the way to see my other.
I've been a fan of b.good from the beginning and have always loved the great, healthier alternative you offer! -- 2007-08-14 15:49:20 |

why I'll be the best cousin in Brookline: Like you, I believe in "filling the void." Like you in September of 1987, you were in sixth grade establishing long-term relationships, so was I. I married my husband that year and had a baby. Like b. good. Those are always my last words to my baby and husband as they go out the door. I also lived in Brookline. I plan to visit b. good there often and I plan to eat good and feel good. I am an excellent cousin, just ask my cousins!! In a few monthe I will retire and enjoy my time "filling the void." Wish me luck! I will b. good. -- 2007-08-14 15:27:57 |
why I'll be the best cousin in Brookline: I will tell everybody I see that b.good had great and healtly food. I will also try to bring as many of my coworkers every day possible. -- 2007-08-14 15:23:56 |
why I'll be the best cousin in Brookline: b.good burger-even a Chinese will love it -- 2007-08-14 15:17:45 |
why I'll be the best cousin in Brookline: Some people like to say that we're all brothers and sisters. One thing I've learned growing up is that this isn't true. I would never hang my soccer buddy Harrison up in by his bathrobe on the hook on the back of the bathroom door, although I regularly do that to my brother. There are certain privileges associated with fraternity that don't extend to the rest of the population. In fact, I wouldn't even want to be brothers and sisters with all of you people out there. No offense, but I deliver and receive enough noogies as it is. Being cousins, however, is something subtly different. As I like to say, on the other hand, you've got different fingers.
Cousinship is a sort of social glue that transcends geographic boundaries, age groups, and weird affectations like never eating the white part of eggs. I bring that up because my cousin Ian never eats the white part, which happens to be my favorite part, narrowly beating out the yellow part. Anyhow, what I was saying is that cousinship is the great unspoken unifier, not because it forces us together, but precisely because it doesn't. Cousinship is a far more casual relationship than immediate familiarity. You don't have to see your cousins more than a couple times a year, and you don't even really have to like them, but you'll be friends for life no matter what. Consider another of my cousins, Calen. Calen plays bluegrass music, guitar and drums and some banjo, following closely in my uncle's footsteps. Calen and I saw each other once a year growing up, usually in his haunts of Nashville, TN. We've had our spats, like the time I shot myself in the foot with Calen's metal BB gun and then blamed him for it. Or when he taped a firecraker onto a Matchbox car and it blew up the front tire of my mountain bike. Nevertheless, our ongoing companionship is not contingent upon our continuing fondness for one another, its simply a function of the fact that we're cousins. I know I'll always be able to get backstage and meet girls at bluegrass shows because my cousin is in the band.
I would also like to be cousins with b.good. The truth is, sometimes I'm not in a burger mood, just like I'm not always in a Calen mood. Some days I feel like a brownie, other times I only want a drink. But if we were cousins, I could stop by b.good to talk about cousin stuff like animals, BB guns, treehouses, the neighborhood dogs, and girls from school. I could get a free burger and we could share it not because I really want to share it, but because our moms talked on the phone and we have to be nice to each other. We'll be cousins no matter what, and I'll always back you up, because we have the same grandpa.
I've lived in Brookline my entire life. I eat in Coolidge corner every few days, and I've been eying the "b.good" signs closely on my bike commute down Harvard st. I want to say "welcome!" to the new b.good. I can show you all the cool stuff in the neighborhood, and we can go hang out at the ramp in the Sanctuary with my new bike (thanks, Calen). We won't be best friends. We probably won't see each other all the time. But if you only like the yellow part of the egg, I'll be there to eat the white. -- 2007-08-14 15:12:45 |
why I'll be the best cousin in Brookline: why should i be your cousin? for my high school superlative, i was voted 'most likely to be a townie'. that pretty much means i have an obligation to visit in town family members any chance i get. and seeing as you'll be in my town, and part of my family, you won't be able to get rid of me. you might as well make it look like it was your choice to keep me around. -- 2007-08-14 14:42:55 |
why I'll be the best cousin in Brookline: To put it simply, I love good burgers and I love good people. See, right there we already have a lot in common. I also don't have that many cousins, so I have plenty of room in my cholesterol-ridden heart to be adopted into the b.good family. And since your burgers are so healthy, nothing would make me happier than a lifetime of free cousin oliver burgers. The only thing better than a b.good burger is a free b.good burger! -- 2007-08-14 14:31:34 |
why I'll be the best cousin in Brookline: Because not only will I eat the cousin oliver burger over and over, but will also eat the many other burgers and salads offered and recommend all my friends to sign up and keep eating! -- 2007-08-14 14:27:31 |
why I'll be the best cousin in Brookline: You already have a burger called the "Adopted Luke" so it's like I'm already in the family. -- 2007-08-14 14:21:49 |
why I'll be the best cousin in Brookline: I'll be the best cousin cus I will be - gosh darn! -- 2007-08-14 14:21:15 |
why I'll be the best cousin in Brookline: I will be the best cousin because my dad tells me (and my mom) that I can't go out to much. So now I have finally have found the place to eat healthy and have a great time. THANX BGOOD! -- 2007-08-14 14:13:33 |
why I'll be the best cousin in Brookline: Well! Because I'm a natural born foodie! My burgers would be better than Oliver's of course, if I may boast. Hey! I could be the next best cousin. But at any rate. I would love to grace my presence at your place of burger worship for the 1st time. Though I may not be a winner. :( - Mike -- 2007-08-14 13:24:09 |
why I'll be the best cousin in Brookline: Come September, I'll be living .14 miles away from the new b.good in Coolidge Corner. I choose my new apartment solely because it was located close to b.good. I hit up the b.good asian chicken salad on Dartmouth Street 5-7 days a week for lunch, don't even get my started with that sweet orange-soy vinaigrette...Why not finish off the day right with another cousin oliver or perhaps a yum delish buffalo chicken sandwich from the b.good in Brookline for dinner? Please call my cuz, I'd love to be apart of your family! -- 2007-08-14 13:14:21 |
why I'll be the best cousin in Brookline: I'll be the best cousin in Brookline because
I am related to the creators of the best darn burgers in the whole wide world. -- 2007-08-14 12:45:33 |
why I'll be the best cousin in Brookline: because my love of the burger goes all the way back to 1st grade in the Nashvile, TN., when my family went to Belle Meade Motel to eat a country breakfast after early church and Lewis, the cook, knew me by name and made me tiny little breakfast burgers with two pickles and mustard b/c he knew I couldnt tolerate eggs and bacon at that hour!(God bless him... -- 2007-08-14 12:45:11 |
why I'll be the best cousin in Brookline: Well, I started to write a song to memorialize how great the Cousin Oliver burger is. Unfortunately, my wife's grandmother died and we drove home quickly to Chicago. But in some ways, this is fitting, because Wanda (or "Busia" as we all called her) LOVED to eat right up until the end, LOVED a good burger, and lived to the ripe old age of 91. So, I would be the best cousin not only because I can write cheesy songs about the Cousin Oliver burger AND live in Brookline, (and I promise to finish this one if I win the coveted Brookline title), but also because I want to emulate Busia. Heck, if she could eat burgers all her life and live to 91, imagine how long I can live eating your healthy burgers?!?!?! Yep, that would mean a whole lotta free burgers!
(To the tune of "Blame Canada" from South Park the Movie)
Times have changed
Our kids are getting worse
They won't obey their parents
They just want to fart and curse!
Should we blame the government?
Or blame society?
Or should we blame the images on TV?
No, Cousin Oliver
Cousin Oliver
With its patty of house ground steak
And real fries that are freshly baked
Cousin Oliver
Cousin Oliver
We don?t add any extra salt
Your high blood pressure isn?t b. good?s fault!

why I'll be the best cousin in Brookline: I'm orginially from West Virginia. I moved up to the Allston area last August. This will be my 1 year anniversary, and what better way to celebrate my move away from my family in WV ( whom I love, but at the same time, I value my space from. ), then for me to be adopted by a loving family in Boston. :) Of course, what is love? Well, to me, love is feeding me all vegetarian BGood burgers ( yes, I'm a vegetarian. Don't have a family vegetarian yet? you're in luck! ) for the rest of my life.
I assume I could substitute the Oliver burger with a veggie patty. After all, even vegetarians need love! -- 2007-08-14 12:30:11 |

why I'll be the best cousin in Brookline: i should be the considered the cousin oliver of the brookline house because I had the same haircut as him in 1986...a shiny red bowl cut...and yes i am a female (no longer sporting the bowl cut)I have some pictures to prove it. but really, i just love your food and your concept and i will be a total regular as i already am at your other 2 stores...only the brookline store is just down the street. -- 2007-08-14 11:23:24 |
why I'll be the best cousin in Brookline: because for my favoritest cousin of all i will do something many have attempted but none have accomplished. i will never leave your corner and enter to that burrito place across the street again. thats right cousin i will not sully your name by being seen at annas taqueria ever again. thats right i said it feed me and i wont stray from my cousins kitchen.

why I'll be the best cousin in Brookline: A cousin is someone who is only sort of related to you. You bump into them sometimes and maybe you're even comfortable hugging them, but they're distant enough as to not annoy you as much as your little brother. That's me. You sort of know me. I know I've been scarce as of late, but whether I was bringing large groups of college students to the Harvard restaurant with Meredith, coaching Heartbreak Heidi to mediocre success in eating spinach, or following around your old intern Patty, be honest- you always enjoy my company. Who wants an annoying cousin anyways?
Another cousin-like trait I have is that although I'm always cool and nonchalant when I see you guys, I'm secretly so proud of my distant relatives at b.good and love you all very much. I even did a project on the awesomeness of b.good for a personal finance class last year. I'm always talking you up to my friends. I even endured an awkward encounter with my 10th grade math teacher when I kept Patty company at the roller derby for you guys!
A cousin also isn't afraid to use their distant connections for their own benefit. Once, I visited Patty while she was making shakes at some weird indoor biking event at a nightclub (during the day). I gave milkshakes to some security guards and they helped us get into a sold-out concert for one of my favorite bands that night! Thanks cuz!
I also would like to take this time to thank you for re-introducing me to the glorious world of meat. I hadn't eaten red meat for 6 years when my turkey westside got mixed up with a beef one. I wasn't mad. I was grateful. Since then, I have started eating all kinds of meat and your house-ground burgers are on the top of my list. Thanks again cuz!
Anything I can do for you, let me know. We're family after all!
Love, Amy
PS- I know this isn't quite b.good related, but I thought you might appreciate this poignant video tribute to Patty's car that I made: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mXTfxenS84Q -- 2007-08-14 10:38:19 |
why I'll be the best cousin in Brookline: All my real cousins live far away in Canada and Alaska....it's pretty lonley, so I need a substitute one to hang out with here!!! I'd be the most loyal cousin ever and I would get everyone I know to become part of your family! I LOVE food, in fact you could say I'm obsessed with it. More importantly, I'm obsessed with b. good! Thank goodness for you, or I'd be a very large cousin! I REALLY want a new baby cousin to nurture. Pretty Please, with a slice of turkey bacon on top. -- 2007-08-14 10:31:01 |
why I'll be the best cousin in Brookline: Jon & Anthony,
Here's why I would be a great cousin:
1) I live in the new 'hood and can show you around.
2) Visiting you on my lunch hour in the Back Bay just isn't enough - we need more quality time together!
3) I won't ever pester you about when you're going to get married or have grandkids (or open the next store.)
4)I won't ever give away the family secrets.
5)Nothing is better than late night burgers with your cousins!
Really, though...best of luck with the new store! I'm so excited that you'll be in the neighborhood.

This is a story of a place named b-good
That was opening a restraunt in my home town
This is a story of a man name MB
Who liked to eat burgers by the pound
So oneday when this place was visited by MB
They knew that it was much more than a hunch
That this place and this man should be cousins
And everyday he should go there for lunch
Go there for lunch
Go there for lunch
And every day MB would goto B Good for lunch

why I'll be the best cousin in Brookline: Being your lil'Cousin means I have to love you and reprect you or at least pretend I do! I will be a proud Cousin Oliver burger eater for life as long as it doesn't expand my waistline cause tooth decay and as long as I don't have to share with my husband and lil'son Brady! -- 2007-08-14 09:53:22 |
why I'll be the best cousin in Brookline: I love b. good. I work next to the Back Bay b. good and my co workers think i'm nuts, I eat there at least 2 times a week (and that's a slow week).
I'd be the best cousin in Brookline because, well, I would recruit more family members. I'd bring cheer everytime I entered a b.good.
Lastly, instead of cousin olive burgers can i have a veggie burger? I'm a vegetarian! Which I think makes me a more loyal customer than any, because i only have two choices (three with the new special buger) for lunch!
Pick me!! -- 2007-08-14 09:50:33 |

why I'll be the best cousin in Brookline: Hey cous,
So, your moving into my neighborhood soon? I'll be there to help you out adjusting to your new surroundings. The most annoying thing about Brookline: make sure you don't leave your car parked on the street after 2 a.m... the cops don't like that so much.
Brookline can sometimes be a hard place to meet new people, so I'll introduce you to all my friends. Luckily, people who meet you for the first time tend to like you because of your friendliness.
Of course, the most important thing to remember is the family that eats together... stays together.
I'm looking forward to seeing you for dinner,
-Nabil -- 2007-08-14 06:37:45 |
why I'll be the best cousin in Brookline: I'll be your best cousin in Brookline, since I live close enough to visit regularly, but not too close that I'll be there so much you'll need to kick me out, or give me my own key.
I'll show up with my friends whenever we're in the neighborhood, so you and they can meet, and they'll see how good you are for themselves. They'll visit you either with or without me.
And unlike cousin Oliver, I'll visit regularly, and I won't mysteriously wait 4 or years to show up, and won't stop showing up just because your other customers never quite understood why I started comin' around. -- 2007-08-13 22:08:18 |
why I'll be the best cousin in Brookline: I come from a large extended family with 66 first cousins (and counting). My parents came to this country in search of opportunity, and they found it here, but something was lacking...Cousins! My children don't have any cousins - they are cousinless. For me, its not about the free burgers - its about making a better life for my kids - a life with cousins. Please watch this video to understand the anguish and agony my children endure, and the lengths I will go to give them that elusive piece of the American dream - Cousins! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pns9JzBbLh4
This video was shot on location in Brookline - and the hours of editing and special effects were the work of Alex Anmahian, a true artist who would not compromise in his pursuit of perfection. The kids deserve special mention: The Anmahian kids - Jake, William, and Nicky, The Yuan kids - Chadd and Shauna (not shown), and the Yassir kids - Khaludi and Samer. Although they are not all mine, and not all cousinless, they agreed to perform in this historically accurate film because they know the cousinless agony my children endure...Many thanks also to those whose efforts ended up on the cutting room floor, namely Yuan (a true artist among us), Hongwu, Elizabeth, and Lisa (who almost certainly will kill me if I win). -- 2007-08-13 20:21:11 |
why I'll be the best cousin in Brookline: I'd be the best cousin in brookline because i love burgers and also am always willing to try new things. I go to devo and know a lot of people and will bring them al to B.good! I would love to help in the resturant and really want to have a part in this new branch. I have been waiting for B.good to open and watched contruction everyday because i live a few streets over.Mabye you have even seen me around (i ride a small blue and yellow bike with pegs). I could always come over and hope to become close to everyone at the new B.Good's. My entry is not as extreme or as crazy as someone else's but i will always come in and help when ever you need me. Mabye someday i will even work there! I think i'd be the best cousin for our new brookline branch and can't wait to come in tomarrow for the food and music and for the grand opening on wednesday! I hope to see everyone there! -- 2007-08-13 18:24:44 |
why I'll be the best cousin in Brookline: I do love my meat, but I am rather obsessive compulsive and am neurotic about germs and meat and food. There are few resaurants in Brookline where I feel completely comfortable eating meat, and I assure you, this is the place for me. I also am a huge fan of veggie burgers and of family, and of eating with my family. To know that when I enter b.good with my friends or with my family, or by myself, I will be surrounded by love and happiness with the people who appreciate the REAL STUFF as much as I do.
I am so excited to have a place so close to home where I will be able to enjoy food as much I do at home.
THANK YOU THANK YOU FOR KEEPING IT REAL!
Always,

why I'll be the best cousin in Brookline: Here are the top ten reasons why I'd be the best cousin:
10. I live and work close to Harvard Ave. So, I'm close enough to be there in case you need something, but not too close to be annoying.
9. I have a lot of 'paying' friends who would more than make up for my free burgers.
8. If someone calls in sick, I could fill in.
7. I have some plaid clothes, so I would fit right in the family picture.
6. I'm always in the mood for good food.
5. My friend Adam would be really envious that I could get free food all of the time.
4. I'd always be smiling when I came in and when I left(good for family morale)
3. I know some of the Brookline Police Officers.....just in case there's a problem
2. I'd be happy to show the family around the neighborhood and introduce you to all the great people around here. Trust me, you'll have no problem fitting in.
1. I love healthy fast food. I love burgers. I love free food.

why I'll be the best cousin in Brookline: Dear b.good
I could be the best cousin ever.... i am a recovering vegan who tasted her first bite of bloody meat just a few months ago and needs nothing more than to fully immerse herself into the world of carnivores once again. i am a poor student and have been known to live purely on sawdust and rocks. i live right up the street and have been going to the gas station that used to be where your new joint now stands since i was just a wee lass. i have mad friends who like burgers, and i am very persuasive. i am super nice and thankful for anything that is free. okay. thank you. love, vyc -- 2007-08-13 12:35:00 |

why I'll be the best cousin in Brookline: I'm friendy, thoughtful, generous and share my burgers not only with my cousins but also with friends, neighbors and small animals!!! -- 2007-08-13 08:28:45 |
why I'll be the best cousin in Brookline: because I'll drive all the way from Sudbury just to pick you up. I'll look after you and make sure you find a great home... in my belly. I'll bring my friends to meet you and introduce you to all of the ladies... they love lean, mean, burger-making goodness that's not from a machine. Best of all, I'll be sure to always have place for you in my heart, because my heart won't be filled with all that fast-food grease and fat! b.good. - Brett -- 2007-08-13 00:04:51 |
why I'll be the best cousin in Brookline: A cousin like Oliver needs an older cool cousin to help spread the word about how cool and great he is. With the help of an older cool cousin like myself, the restaurant will have no problem fitting in, getting people to like him and succeeding in his newfound surroundings. Because his older cool cousin has been living in Brookline his entire life and has seen food places come and go, the restaurant's older cousin knows what a food place needs to do in order to succeed in a scary place like Brookline. His older cousin has also made it his mission to make B. Good succeed and will not stop until his mission is complete. I think B. Good not only needs someone to take the in and obsessively like them like family, but also promote and advise the cousin so that the chubby little weirdo becomes a cool confident man. -- 2007-08-12 19:07:04 |
why I'll be the best cousin in Brookline: I love: everything on the menu, the location, not having to cook for myself. I'm willing to be a guinea pig for any new menu ideas. I can bring many more cousins along. Cousin Oliver fits into my family, Grandmother's maiden name Oliver. I think the idea of an abandoned garage is the best use of space I've ever heard. Most of all I want b.good Burgers in Brookline. -- 2007-08-12 18:56:13 |
why I'll be the best cousin in Brookline: i will tell everyone I know about how good the food is. -- 2007-08-12 17:49:28 |
why I'll be the best cousin in Brookline:
Ode to B.Good
When you?ve got a hankerin?
for somethin? grilled and pure
when rice seems kind of sappy
and lobster too mature?
Find your way to the new b. good
just down on Harvard Street
and bite into a burger
a culinary treat!
Turkey, beef or veggie
you choose between the three?
Be sure to add the tasty fries
delicious and guilt free!

why I'll be the best cousin in Brookline: A good cousin strikes that perfect blend between best friend you hang out with around friends and act cool with and family member who saw you naked when you were 1 year old at the family reunion at Lake Erie. Yes, a cousin may know a little *too* much about you, but is prudent enough to keep these little tidbits of information tucked away - far, far away from coworkers, dates, and other people you're trying to act normal around.
But the best cousin of all has the uncanny ability to take what's great about you and spin it to the world in a whole new light. Oh, and alphabetize it too, because this best cousin of all is a little anal-retentive (hey, that's not ALL a bad thing!).
So, b.good Brookline, be shy and awkward no more with this new cousin around. Instead of spreading the news about how delicious you are, this cousin will instead call you:
Ambrosial
Appetizing
Choice
Delectable
Delicious
Divine
Enticing
Heavenly
Luscious
Mouth watering
Piquant
Rich
Sapid
Savory
Scrumptious
Tasty
Titillating (I knew you'd like that one!)
Toothsome
Yes, that's right, this list-loving, slightly OCD, high strung, stays-up-all-night-and-cleans cousin will forget about all the embarrassing family stuff around your new Brookline friends and simply proclaim that your burgers are ambrosial, your shakes are divine, and your fries, well, eating the fries at b.good is about as titillating of an experience as you can get in life.
And then later, when we're not around the new neighborhood kids, I'll put you in a headlock and watch the old VHS of Family Reunion 1991 with you. I know you secretly liked that Phil Collins song! But don?t worry, dear cousin, that?s just between you and me.

why I'll be the best cousin in Brookline: Why should i be the cousin in brookline? ill tell you why. I'm my family i don't know my cousins. sure i see them at weddings and funerals just like you might have seen me at one of your restaurants once or twice a year. but once a cousin in any family does something good all the other cousins try to buddy up to them. and thats what I'm doing. since your moving in down the street cuz i feel like raiding your fridge, i am family after all arnt i. so b the responsible one in the family and help out that cousin you kinda remember from your sisters wedding. see you soon pal. -- 2007-08-11 08:59:27 |
why I'll be the best cousin in Brookline: Our family will be the best cousin because we live down the street, and we've been waiting for the opening ever since we saw the coming soon sign for b.good. Our family is a mini Brady Bunch - 6 people! We will visit frequently. Hey, we can walk there in less than a minute! One of us has already tasted your food in the resteraunt in the Back Bay... and loved it. We are looking forward to coming a lot and becoming part of your family. -- 2007-08-10 18:02:43 |
why I'll be the best cousin in Brookline: On December 30th, 1995, I (a devout Detroit Lions fan) went with 7 other friends to an NFL playoff match between our Detroit Lions and the Philadelphia Eagles - in Philly. Long story short, the Lions got destroyed, our car was trashed, we were harassed and threatened, and then... on the Pennsylvania turnpike, way back in December of '95, I vowed to not eat another hamburger until the Lions won a playoff game. They have won only one since 1957 and, now 12 years later, I STILL HAVE NOT HAD A HAMBURGER... I want that burger to be this year, I want that burger to be at BGood's...

why I'll be the best cousin in Brookline: As I have been looking for somewhere I can eat on a consistent basis, b.good was my prayers answered. Finally somewhere I can eat that doesnt suck and is actually REAL FOOD that can sustain my feeble life !! -- 2007-08-10 13:25:06 |
why I'll be the best cousin in Brookline: I will be the best cousin in Brookline because I've been with you since the early days when you opened your charming little Boston space next to Back Bay Station. I loved you like brothers, then, and wanted nothing more than to eat there every day (sometimes I did). But then, I moved away... far, far away to Watertown. And I missed my brothers, because it was next to impossible for me to get back into Boston with any regularity. But now, you will be practically next door to me, and I can love you like brothers again.
More than all this, though is my soon-to-be-born daughter, due to make her appearance any day now. If I can make it until then, I will be at the Brookline store on Tuesday night, ensuring this little b.good family-member-too-be gets an early taste of the goodness that will envelope her life, now that you and I will be in close proximity again. Yes, she will cut her teeth on only the best available. And that, my friends, is b.good.
You'll know me by my waddle and swollen ankles. See you Tuesday night! -- 2007-08-10 11:36:03 |
why I'll be the best cousin in Brookline: I'll be your cousin because I love B-Good and I will tell all my friends that you guys are in Brookline Now! Wahoooooo! -- 2007-08-10 10:22:35 |
why I'll be the best cousin in Brookline: I can cook, I can travel and I can spread the burger-gospel around the world! -- 2007-08-10 09:44:20 |
why I'll be the best cousin in Brookline: b.good grand opening in Brookline is the greatest event to take place in Brookline?s 302 years. Despite having to leave town as a result of an evil landlord, I still hold Brookline close to my heart and I am honored to work close by the new store. Gone will be my days of circling the Harvard Square store trying to find parking long enough to run in and grab a burger after work. Gone are the days of disputing parking tickets earned for spending too much time at the Back Bay store. Now I can easily swing by after work for some burger goodness.
As the good cousin that I am, I made you brookline/b.good t-shirts to welcome you into the neighborhood (complete with the town seal-I?ll bring them to you on Tuesday). I?ve also started spreading rumors about how cool you are so that you can easily make some friends on your first day in town.
After a devastating loss in the customer of the year competition, I am ready to rise again in the name of Brookline b.good. And I won?t make you sit at the kids table during family holidays.

why I'll be the best cousin in Brookline: Because I am the best family member ever! -- 2007-08-10 07:25:59 |
why I'll be the best cousin in Brookline: I will be the best cousin in Brookline because you have shown me that you know how to make veggie burgers. For years, I've been searching; no one else can do it, but you understand. You make them right. (I'm also one of those insufferable health nuts who only eats whole grains. Where else can I find a burger on whole grain? NOWHERE. When I found you, it really was like finding family.)
So how will I be the best cousin in Brookline? Simple. There are myriad vegetarians in this self-consciously radical/liberal town, and almost none of us have found the good burger. I will bring them to the good burger. I will bring them to you.
But there's one thing. It's a little awkward. (Don't look a gift horse in the mouth, they say, right? Beggars can't be choosers, they say, right? But we're family. We can be honest with family.) I'm a vegetarian. I don't want free Cousin Oliver burgers. I want free black bean burgers.
Be well, all.
Love,
Sam -- 2007-08-09 23:22:25 |
why I'll be the best cousin in Brookline: Since I live in Beverly, MA., I'm close but not too close. I stop by for burgers a couple times a month, not every day, so I won't become a burden. I've got two sons, 26 and 23, so I know it not all about me - sometimes you just need to be there with an open mind, open ears, open door - and I can make a pretty good breakfast any time of the day. -- 2007-08-09 20:54:55 |
why I'll be the best cousin in Brookline: Sung to the tune of Sweet Caroline
Here it began
The best burgers in all of Boston
The taste of the food is so good
It was a small family
then it got bigger and bigger
who would have known they would come to my hood?
Bun, touchin burger
With some lettuce
tasting great
I LOVE IT!!!
Sweet Brookline. bump bump bump
Burgers never seemed soo good.
B.Good, B.Good, B.Good
I been so glad.bump bump bump
THat they moved to my neighborhood.
But now i
look as the past
And i rememer the beginning
when cousin Anthony and John started it all.
And I'm soo glad that i am part of the family.
And that are family is growing strong.
Bun, touchin burger
With some lettuce
tasting great
I LOVE IT!!!
Sweet Brookline. bump bump bump
Burgers never seemed soo good.
B.Good, B.Good, B.Good
I been so glad.bump bump bump
That they moved to my neighborhood.
Sweet Brookline. bump bump bump
Burgers never seemed soo good.
B.Good, B.Good, B.Good
I been so glad.bump bump bump
That they moved to my neighborhood.
Sweet Brookline.

why I'll be the best cousin in Brookline: Welcome to the neighorhood! Brookline is a community of moms & babies- especially in coolidge corner, you can expect a good flow of little people to be bopping in & out of your doors all day long. I happen to have two such little ones and would more than gladly be that annoying cousin who bops in with their kids, unnanounced, very regularly. -- 2007-08-09 15:47:13 |
why I'll be the best cousin in Brookline: I'm the bestest free loading entourage accessory. I'm the linsey lohan of schwag and burgers, minus the crotch shots.

why I'll be the best cousin in Brookline: Being from southern California, I'm *kind* of a West Coast-supremacist. I'm not ashamed. I AM ashamed of the lackluster options for tasty, diverse, heavy-on-the-spicy, low-on-the-fatty burgers in this town. Now that b.good is making it's way into Brookline, I'm slightly more proud to call this place home. When I sit down with an "el guapo" or a "west-side" i can't help but feeling that this (cousinly) love was meant to be.
If you skipped that long intro, at least consider this: I can make the "bloods" sign with my hands. I do not condone gang violence, but if I have to learn to throw down "b.good" (the period will be admittedly difficult) to show you where my loyalty lies, I will.

why I'll be the best cousin in Brookline: As told to his Dad:
"Family is all about generations -- learning from our elders and teaching the youth. And with the opening of the Brookline b.good, is there any better lesson to teach our kids than where they should go for real food made with the healthiest ingredients by people who care about their customers' well being? That's why I, Benjamin, am your special someone in Brookline. I'm a Brookline native, I'm two years old, I can count to 20, and I even know all my planets (yes, Pluto too!). But most important, I have a whole lifetime of burgers ahead of me. They should be quality burgers made with love. They should be burgers I can share with my friends. And they should be burgers my parents won't ever worry about me eating. They should b.good."

why I'll be the best cousin in Brookline: Because I work in Real Estate about 300 yards away and I love a good burger. I can recomend B-Good to every new person that comes through our door. -- 2007-08-09 11:22:26 |
why I'll be the best cousin in Brookline: The real question isn't so much, "why I would be the best cousin in Brookline??, but why would B-Good be the best cousin for me, in Brookline. Simply put I don't have a ton of cousins, and I really could use one more cousin to be my ?go to? cousin. My cousins are nice but they?re sort of quiet, so I need a shy, awkward, out of place cousin who will seemingly fit in at first. But to everyone?s surprise once he gets a drink in him he?ll let his hair down, and dance. That's right, dance. I need a cousin who will dance wildly at my wedding (not that I'm getting married anytime soon, but you need to plan for these things eventually). You know the one person who is normally reserved, and then out of nowhere is the life of the party. My entire family and the other guests will be shocked at first, but then I can just casually say, "oh, that's cousin Oliver from B-good." To which everyone will reply with, "Oooh yeah, Cousin Oliver? Man is he crazy," but in reality they will be racking their brains to think of who is this random cousin that has broken the unwritten awkward code so faithfully followed by the other cousins. Of course I have every intention of joining you on these shenanigans.
But I don't want it to stop at weddings. I want to bring Cousin Oliver to the family Thanksgiving, the family Christmas, and definitely the family Easter. All of these family events are normally calm and peaceful times of gathering and reflection, but with cousin Oliver by my side we can spice them up. They will become events that everyone in the family will speak of for weeks, and always look forward too.
Besides I have four siblings, so if I become your cousin you?re actually gaining five cousins to partake in Lawrence family shenanigans.

why I'll be the best cousin in Brookline: growing up i lived thousands of miles away from my cousins, and never got to play with them, go on family vacations or anything that's typical of extended family members.
i still haven't seen some cousins in over 20 years. being a transplant to boston, i'm even further removed from these cousins. i don't even have any new england roots other than my wife and the baby that's expected in 2008.
i need some good new england roots, i need family. who's got my back when i get into another bike accident and i can't get to work. if i had a good uncle like uncle faris, i could count on him to help a nephew out.
what happens when there's no sitter available and baby lee needs to be watched, can't trust our neighbors, we're going to need some good wholesome family members.
the same could be said for me as a cousin. i'm always down to cover a closing shift if an employee flakes on their shift. i'm good for re-tiling the spanish slate roof. i'm also good for the family thanksgiving day football game.
i love the idea of blood is thicker than water, help me feel the love here in new england, and i won't let the family down. -- 2007-08-09 11:01:25 |
why I'll be the best cousin in Brookline: I bring the mustard wherever I go. I snarf cola out of my nose, and I can turn a French fry into a mustache in 2 seconds flat. I'm the cousin who brings the good times and the ladies, and my motto is "It's not that I'm not full, it's just that I'm still hungry." Sometimes you just have to have another. Please, welcome me into your family. It will be be best decision you make today, aside from lunch, that is.
